You’ll never believe the latest fad catching heat in the hot Miami sun. Would you believe us if we told you it was pingpong?
The phenomenon, which got it’s start in New York City, thanks to Susan Sarandon’s pingpong bar, SPiN, which opened last year, has migrated down to South Florida where clubs are boasting pingpong tables.
Bar games have seen a recent surge in popularity. Old favorites like darts and pool have regained their popularity among bar hoppers, and now we can add ping pong to the list. SLAM Table Tennis Club in Palm Beach is one of the newest bars catching onto the craze. Chalk, another south beach pingpong inspired club is set to open by the end of summer.
These aren’t your typical “sport bars”, either. They are elaborate nightclubs offering a full bar, Las Vegas style light shows, and DJs. Don’t believe us? Just take a peak at SPiN New York’s Website.
It’s a very interesting trend, but we’re behind it 100%. After all, it incorporates our love for pingpong into our nightlife. Personally, we can’t think of anything better.
